Lake Guri, Paovon Lodge
Situated in the southeast of Venezuela. The Paovon Lodge is located at the southwest of the lake. Incredible numbers and sizes of fish have become concentrated in the huge remote bays near the Caroni and Paragua rivers that feed the lake. These hundreds miles of shoreline and thousand arms and fingers are dotted with islands, coves and bay; a perfect habitat for the huge population of Peacock Bass with an average of 7 pounds and often exceed 15 pounds. Anglers are seldom disappointed in the search of action. Payaras, Morocotos are also available. Fly fishermen will use 16 ft. fibreglass boats and are equipped with a casting platform. Bigger fish up to 24 pounds have been caught in these waters and 20 to 30 fish per day per boat is average. Payara are very aggressive.
